Town of Port Hedland Mayor Kelly Howlett said;
“The North West Festival is an absolute highlight on the Pilbara calendar and this year’s event certainly didn’t disappoint. It’s so much more than a music concert to our community.
“It was great to see everyone’s participation the fringe events leading up to the weekender – with everything from family friendly fishing to skate competitions with leading BMX stars to burlesque to the Hedland Art Awards and the West End Markets. We had more than 30 community events happening throughout August as part of the program.
“The North West Festival really does belong to everyone associated with it – the Town, our sponsors, our community and those who travel to Port Hedland to enjoy the weekend festival. A collaborative effort and tremendous corporate and community support saw North West Festival 2016 achieve a great line-up and indeed a fantastic celebration of music, arts, culture and youth engagement in Port Hedland.
