We’re usually pretty colloquial with our posts but this a little important and we all thought you should know. If you’re attending Laneway Festival next weekend, plan on visiting Fremantle then or are just a Freo local, please read this.
St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is being held at Esplanade Reserve and West End Fremantle on Saturday, 8 February 2014. Gates open at 12.00pm, with the first performance commencing at 12.10pm. The event will conclude at midnight.
System tests/sound checks for the event will be conducted on Friday 7 February for a maximum of three hours between 2.00pm – 7.00pm, and on Saturday 8 February for a maximum of two hours between 9.00am – 12.00pm.
Stage and speaker layouts are designed to obtain maximum screening from buildings and topography.
Noise levels will be continuously monitored both inside and outside the venue.
Sounds systems will be adjusted wherever practicable to reduce noise emissions to residents.
Road / car park closures and traffic management
The following roads will be closed from 5.00pm on Friday 7 February until 12.00pm on Sunday 9 February:
Marine Terrace (between Henry & Cliff Streets),
Mouat Street (between High St & Marine Terrace), and
Croke Street (between Henry and Cliff Streets).
The City of Fremantle Number 2 car park at the bottom of Cliff Street will be closed from 6.00am Saturday 8 February until 3.00am on Sunday 9 February.
Security / cleaning
A dedicated security force will patrol the area outside the venue. The surrounding area will be cleaned immediately after the event.
